Paradise 6:
Independent Publishing Event
For two weeks at the end of August, this space becomes a platform of encounter and gathering, collecting and connecting books and people in The Hague. Friends and strangers – all welcome. The Hague Independent Publishing Event — a momentary space for books.
The exhibition space: books that were made / printed / published / exhibited in The Hague, and books that were found in The Hague, from bookshelves of Kringloops, without any aim to be of artistic value.
The office: collecting, scanning, and re-publishing the books from the collection, in an attempt to archive the event, and lastly document it in a publication.
The library: a reading room presenting pieces of Vincent van Baar’s book collection from the attic, student publications, and facilitating a space for book talks. The event will round up with a summer book market on the 31st of August, together with a launch of the publication made in the office.
The event is facilitated by Hannah Schleifer (KABK Photography alumna 2024 and founder of ringelpress), Vincent van Baar (graphic designer and editorial design tutor at KABK) and Malva Askerup (graphic design student at KABK) and is supported by the KABK Photography Department.
